Hi guys, I wonder if someone can help. Last night my accelerator on 53 reg corsa starting clunking.... it was almost as if there was a small man with a hammer tapping on the underside of the pedal. It only seems to be doing it when I am applying a certain amount of pressure. The car was registered 31st Jan 04 has just had an MOT and passed and has done 38,000 miles. Can anyone shed any light on this as I would probably ignore it if it wasn't sending such a wierd feeling all the way up my right leg.

Cheers guys

Maybe the cable is catching something under the bonnet, does it affect the cars acceleration?

Thank you,

Will get my fella and his dad to have a look at the weekend. It is quite sluggish. But thank you because my fella knows quite a bit about cars if hes looking for something in particular and maybe he can fix this for me.

Thanks once again, if we can't fix it then I will repost on Monday.
Perhaps the accelerator cable is bowing when you press hard, and coming into contact with a wheel or belt?

Either that or you have a small man with a hammer trapped under the pedal.
