Astra wiper fault

My old P reg Astra is always having some fault or other to keep me occupied.

This month it is the wipers. When used and turned off, they sometimes keep wiping for ages afterwards. Annoying if you have sprayed the screen and it is not raining, as they just keep screeching back and forth.

It seems more likely to happen during or after wet weather, as if water is getting in somewhere.

Any ideas here to start?

Could be your wiper relay playing up. If you manage to distinguish which one it is, take it out and clean it up with a cloth and put it back in and that may solve the problem.
