key scratches

i just recently got my car keyed and it is mostly shallow but in one or two parts it is deeper, but not down to the metal. I have been reading about compounds and waxes and touch up paints, My question is should i wax and see what comes out or should i compound then wax then touch paint. It never really specifies anywhere I have read which order or if there is an order. Any thoughts????
