renault scenic 1.6 gearbox

hi i have a y reg renault scenic auto and it will not drive in 1 2 or D only drive in reverse fine. can feel it want to bite but just wont eny ids plz let me no if i need a new gearbox or it can be sortted

You have the correct level of fluid in the gearbox I presume?
