squeaky brakes

just bought a 2nd hand grand scenic 05 plate 3 weeks ago
the garage said that they have put new brake pads on however they seem to aqueak quite often is this normal?

they should be ok in a while,give them time to bed in and they should be fine.
if you had paid a garage for fitting pads and they squeaked afterwards you would be straight back with the car...
Exessive squeaking/squealing is not normal, cheap pads , not re fitting anti squeal shims/clips ,not using copper slip could be a reason or rusty discs if the car had been standing a while. but a few hard applications of the brake pedal should sort that out....if its still doing it i would certainly be back to the trader with it

thanks for your help both of you.no i didnt pay the garage for it to be done they did it when they prepped the car up ready for me to collect buying the vehicle.
all i meant was if you had taken your car or any car into a garage and paid to have pads fitted and they squeaked badly afterwards you would be straight back complaining...so the same action should be taken against a used car dealer
