Vauxhall vectra Gearbox

I have a 2002 Vauxhall Vectra 1.8 LS 5 speed manual car. It's the new shape one. The gearbox has gone and i'm trying to get a replacement. I know i need an F17 but have been told that they come with 2 different types of mounts. How can i find out which mount i have?

youll maybe find that although the mountings that bolt on to the g/box are slightly different the actual bolt holes on the g/box may be indentical. ie the same gearbox can accomodate 2 different type of mounting. we used to do this on the old escort diesel vans where there was a slight difference in th older shape to the facelifted model. it was the same gearbox with 2 slightly different style of mounting but both would fit the same gearbox.

I dont know where you are bgbrns, But I was in a local scrap yard on Frid, Phone No/01254-382896 they had one that had just come in.

Hi, I should have said, the Scrap Yard is in Clayto-le-moors Accrington Lancs, The yard is 10mins off the M65 ( J7)
