i have changed the fuel filter on my frontera for no particular reason, car was running fine(2000 Limited LWB DTi Manual) went to start again but would not ,found only way is to crack the injectors and keep turning over until we start ,this is now the case each time i have to start the car ,have found there is fuel as far as the filter but no further have now put non return valve in after fuel filter still has not made any difference, one other thing am getting vacum in fuel tank, any ideas ?

if it's a 2ltr turbo diesel you will need to fill the filter up with fuel to prime it before you fit it as ther is no hand primer on this vehicle,so you will have to remove it again & put fuel in it,bacause you have now had a problem you will need to bleed it from the injectors aswell,if you still have a problem after that it'l have to go to a vauxhall dealer as it could be a few things,possibly injector seal's but if it was ok before i can't see that being the case.

Air is getting drawn in from the filter.Check the rubber seal.

i agree with twr that could also be the fault!!
