Oily Substance on Clutch Pedal

Had clutch and slave cylinder replaced 6 months ago, now getting a leakage of oily substance on clutch pedal which then forms a nice little puddle in the footwell.
Obviously I'm going to get it properly checked out but any ideas?

What make of car? check your slave + Brake cylinders for fluid.

There seem to be a leak from one of these Cylinders, Is it oil or Fluid?

There must be a leak from the clutch master cylinder now.

Had it checked, the master cylinder has indeed gone...more expense!

It not a big job Amz look on Ebay for the replacement part, you can do the job yourself within an a couple of hrs.

That'd be fine if i even knew where to find it under the bonnet, i've got no mechanical experience whatsoever (plus i'm a helpless female lol)

Hi Amz, if you still have the receipts for the work take it back to where the job was done & explain what you have stated they should have lasted a few years longer that 6 months, If they may try & try and fob you off but stand your ground. let the site know how you go on.

They never changed the master cylinder to begin with so to them it's a new job, they did say if it was the slave they could do it under warranty but sod's law and all that...

It isn't the machanic's fault in the slightest. They replaced the slave cylinder. The master cylinder fault is 100 percent independent of this problem.

If you want a car that doesn't have worn out parts then buy a new one. Stop being a sod.

I wasn't blaming the mechanic at all, I'm entirely aware that this is a separate problem.

I find this a personal attack that has nothing to do with the question I originally asked, so in future don't bother.

If it was done at a garage then it's under warranty. Take it back and demand to have it fixed. Get the carpets valeted as well.
