Landrover Freelander

After unlocking the car with remote, red light on dash flashes, along with beeping in the car. Once the ignition key is in barrel, bleeping stops. I have looked in the manual but nothing found........any ideas why this happens? Thanks

It may help if you were specific about which year your freelander is.
Anyhow you can try this synchorizing process.
1. unlock using key.
2. have remove fob close to vehicle.
3.press (in quick succession) either of the two buttons 5 times or more.
Please note. Do not keep two remote fobs on same key ring.
HOW EVER remote fob and igntion key MUST be on same key ring.
