Freelander v Megane car swap???
Hi
We've had our car up for sale on a local website as we have a 3dr, 05 plate, Renault Megane. Having a 1 year old and another on the way a 3dr just isn't suitable for us.
Someone else in the area who has a 51 plate, 5 dr, Freelander is looking to downsize.
We've heard mixed reviews on the Freelander and heard a lot of people mention engine faults.
We took it for a test drive today and its perfect. Although its an older car both selling values are the same
Can anyone tell us their thoughts on this swap if its a good thing or not

I had a diesel Freelander previously, and have a Land Rover Discovery in the family now. I was with the ex when I had mine, and he has gone on to have another three Freelanders now, and he, nor we, have ever had any trouble with any of them!
My brother has had two renaults, both espaces, and has had gearbox trouble with both, and three months ago the head went on it, and he's now sold it and gone for a peugeot.
I think the bad reviews you have heard were possibly regarding the petrol model freelanders, which seem to have more problems.
Its down to personal choice of course, but me and Mr D think if its a diesel, you should go for it!!
Hope that helps!

I loved mine, it was lovely to drive and it was only because we split up that I couldnt keep it (it was the newest car of the two we had, so automatically became his when we broke up, lol! I had to have the old banger!! Men!!)
Ive gone and got a big dog now, and would love another one, but maybe 2 4x4s in one family would be too much!
Good luck with it!
