55 plate toyota verso key fob problem

Hi. Can't open my car with key fob. Manual key wouldn't work either until used WD40. Fob still won't work despite changing fobs and batteries. Red light on dash is on but alarm doesn't seem to be working either. Any ideas?

This procedure is effective after a system malfunction or exta key added or replaced.;
a.have key removed from ign and drivers door open
b. insert and remove key (into AND outof ign)- AND within 40 seconds close and open drivers door 2x.
c. close drivers door and insert key in igntion
d.turn key(in ign) ON then OFF 1x and remove key
e .within 20 seconds (of above) at same time hold down both unlock and lock buttons upto 2 seconds.
f. within 3 secs (of above procedure) hold and release lock button only for 1 sec. GOOD LUCK.
