Someone backed hard into back of my car
I had stopped to turn left into the road and a car banged into the back of my car causing a lot of damage. Police came to the scene and took the details. I phoned later my insurers and sending a claim form. Out of the blue(so it seems) the other driver's insurance co phoned me and wanted to see the damage to my car. Is this not unusual?
By the way I am going to the doctors as i did get quite a jolt. I take it it would be wise incase a problem arises in the future. Do I now phone up my insurers to inform them of the other ins co's request?
What is the usual procedure in case of accidents? I have never made any claims whatsover and my NCD is intact and am fully Comp
Would welcome any suggestions

This is probably because of the high incidence of 'fake' accidents recently where a driver suddenly brakes in order to cause an accident and make a high claim. They want to check that the car is what you say it is. YOu should be glad they are checking this out because any fraud that they discover and subsequently squash the claim will save genuine people (such as you and me) on premiums.
