Hi I got into my car this evening and an amber warning light was illuminated, i looked in the handbook and it states that there is a malfunction in the emissions control....?? What does this mean and what do i need to do about it please?
On my computer screen bit in the car is first flashed up with anti-pollution error or something like that anyway...
Engine management light, which can involve a multitude of things from small to big.. You will need to get it to your local Mechanic so they can link it to the computer to diagnose the problem.
Hi Mr K, I have sourced the light, as above in my question I just wanted to know what a malfunction in emissions control could be... and what to do about it.
The Lambda (or O2 sensor) is in the exhaust system very near the front. It can indicate to the ECU that there is a fuelling problem, or itself may be faulty.
Not desperate, but car will probably not pass next MOT without fixing the problem.
