ford fiesta encore 1.3 drivers door won't unlock with the key

Hi

Today, all of a sudden the drivers side door of my car won't unlock with the key, so I have to get in through the passengers side and unlock from inside to get in. Does anybody know what this might be. It has been working fine up until now.

Usually, the rod jumps/unclips itself out of the small plastic lever on the barrel cylinder assy. You need two plastic rod-end clips.
Ford dealers have spare clips .. You cannot repair them.
Get a couple before you strip the door out.
It's probably a Tibbe (faceted) key .. Locks are reliable.
