clicking noise on front drivers wheel
Hello, i have had a clicking noise from the drivers side front wheel for a couple of days now, booked it in for tuesday to have the cv joint replaced as this is what the man at the garage said it was, the clicking noise was only there for 2 days, happened when in a straight line or turning wheel whilst driving....however today when i got in the car and drove it...no noise at all, drove for 20 miles..still no clicking....did 3 point turns full lock and still no clicking, so my question is, is it possible to have a failing cv joint that sometimes clicks and sometimes dosnt? as i think its pointless replacing a part if it is somwthing else..ive checked the tyre nothing in it, any help would be appreciated before i waste some money.thanks jesyca

thanks for your reply, tyres checked at garage all ok plenty tread, no bulges or splits, my dad swapped the rear wheels for the fronts and noise was still there but all of a sudden the ticking noise stopped altogether after3 or 4 days, just dont want to throw money away replacing it if its not the problem, all discs pads and cv boots all ok
