there is a differance on distance from left lock to right lock aganst the tank. what can i do about this?

Has your bike been dropped at all, sounds like one of the steering stops has been damaged, nearly always get damaged in a crash.

Its a bit late, but can you see the stops? and is there something trapped down there, a cable maybe? Or have you sorted it now!

take the bars off and lay them on a flat surface. this will show up any kinks or bends. had the same problem with a yamaha fazer. put new bars on and hey presto,sorted.
