Loud or unmarked exhausts not stating "not for road use" or "race use only" are passable at the discretion of the MOT tester. If he likes you or is a biker he will often allow you to pass! If they do have the markings stated, the MOT tester can at his discretion give you an advisory sheet stating that you brought and replaced the silencer on site. What you do after you leave his forecourt is unkown to him sort of thing. I know two places that are very leniant in this way!! Good on them too ha ha.
