3 Answers
hi guys. i'm looking to get myself a litle bike to use for short journeys in good weather and i'm stuck on choosing between a gilera dna 125 and a 100cc scooter (maybe peoguot speedfighter).
Does anyone have, or has had either of these bikes and can give me some advice? thanks alot

Not too much to choose between the two, however i have rebuilt ( new top end ) many peugeot's with low mileage, as they don't seem to get too well looked after.
There are always exceptions of course, but in my humble opinion not much is better than the Gilera Runner 125.
The 2 stroke variant is sturdy and extremely well built and the four stroke variant is the same.
If you can find a low mileage, looked after Runner 125VX that's not been thrashed by a 'yoof' then i would suggest that you won't be disapointed.
All the best.

Hi Kim,
One thing to consider when chosing a scoot is security and where will it be kept when not in use. A few years ago I was in the same position as you and the deciding factor for me was that the Speedfight had an immobiliser and a built in boa lock which is ideal for going around lamp posts when you leave your pride and joy on the street.
Relabliliy is another thing to consider, I neeed mine to commute to and from work daily, a trip of 10 miles each way. So far my Speedfight hasn't let me down and I ride all year rain, shine or snow. To do this you need to keep up with the maintenace schedule which is every 2500km(milometer is in km on the Peugeot). So after six years I'd not hesitate to buy another Speedfight.
