motorcyle (scooter ) problem with the lights

Bought a scooter of the internet earlier this year and had no problems. Now the dark nights are here i am having to use my lights when my lights are on and i indicate they flash in time i told the people i got the bike from and they sent me a new battery and rectifier but this has not helped CAN YOU HELP?

This type of problem can be caused where a wire or wires have rubbed against each other or the frame and is causing an earthing problem. You sometimes see older cars with this fault too. Basically what you need to do is strip the machine panels off (most plastic body panels are held on with torx screws or similar) and follow the wires from the switches to the lamps checking for any frayed or rubbed wiring. A short term solution would be to insulate any exposed wire with electrician's tape.
