VW golf gti electric windows stopped working on one side.

I would like to know what could have caused both driver side windows(front & rear) to stop working? They both stopped at the same time. The passenger side windows work fine.

I'm not familiar with the wiring on those things, but first port of call should be the fuse box. Lots of cars have separate fuses for the left and right of things.
