What's your pet hate relating to things that people ignore in the highway code? Mine is when you are walking across a side road and a car tries to turn in and blasts their horn at you for having the temerity to be crossing the road: Rule 146 says: "give way to pedestrians crossing a road into which you are turning" they get the finger! aaarrrrggghhh

People who don't use their turn signals, I've noticed a growing trend in young female drivers not using them. Lazy.
People in the wrong lanes at roundabouts, which is linked with wrong turn signals. Granted some can be confusing but its not rocket science is it?
my pet hate is people just about to cross the road, they look round see you indicating to turn and they just carry on walking, WHY BOTHER LOOKING ROUND IF YOU ARE GONNA WALK ACROSS ANYWAY.I drive a lorry for a living, but people are so insistant on walking right out in front of you, as if they own the road, unfotunately common sense doesnt always prevail

I agree with Skids about roundabouts.  Especially people who use the left hand lane on the approach and then turn right, usually across the path of someone (usually me) who is going straight across when arrows on the carrigeway clearly indicate that I am in the right lane, not the idiot on my left.

my pet hate as a truck driver is people who do not understand that the middle and right hand lanes on motorways are for overtaking only and not for grandad to permanently hogg in his mobility cruiser(citroen picasso) doing 40 mph . as truckers our vehicles are limited to 56mph so we rely  on using the middle lane to pass other people which we cannot do when the above mentioned is happening

My pet hate would be people who ignore the yellow boxes on some roundabouts and junctions.  I have to cross one on the way home from work, and it is constantly blocked by vehicles. Grrrrrrr!

And I've noticed just as many male drivers of all ages who don't use their indicators, especially when pulling out of a parking space or changing lanes on the motorway

I just love the "a little light mist light" that's fitted to cars these days - gives you exemption from the Highway Code visibility distance for use of high intensity rear lights. Even better when you've got two, so that the car behind doesn't see it when the brake lights do come on and SLAM.... Misused high intensity rear lights - a major contribution to motorway pile-ups?
