how are you supposed to know weather a car is rear wheel drive or not?

I've finally decided on the car I want but I cant seem to find out whether its rwd or not. I've been on the official website and still cant obtain this information. Should this information not be in the specifications?

i was about to say most modern cars are FWD then the mentioned the exception BMW !!

As said, check the spec, look under the bonet, if the engine is in-line " rear wheel drive, transvers F.W.D.

Yep, it's a FWD, though to be fair I can't think of any other cars, apart from some old Renaults (the pic is of a Renault fuego/18 engine) that have longitudinal mounted engines and FWD.

The engine in my Skoda Superb is "in line" and front wheel drive. I presume the same can be said for the VW Passat and possibly the Audi A4.
