problem with brakes on Hyundai Sante Fe
I have a 2002 sante fe diesel 2 litre. Over the past 4 weeks, I have had an intermittant problem with the brakes. When driving along, I have felt a lose of power. This seems to right itself after a few minutes. A few days ago, I experienced the problem as I drove into our drive. I jacked up the front of the car and found that the front brakes were engaged. I got the wife to pump the brake pedal and they released. I have taken the car to a garage and he was unable to replicate the problem. He has drained, flushed the brake system and refilled with fresh fluid, but today the problem returned. Any ideas out there?Thanks in advance.

Check that next.
Both NSF & OSF the same? If so, I would discount a seized caliper .. as they would not both seize at same time.
Check the discs by spinning to make sure they do not have excessive 'runout'
If they do .. they are bad discs and need replacing with pads.

Thanks allbags. Yes, both fronts are the same. Once the brakes release, then both wheels spin freely. I should have said that I live in Greece, miles from a main dealer. Very dusty conditions. I have had the car from new. Never any problems with the brakes. Can't see that it is a prob with the discs. I was thinking that there may be some sort of valve(?) that pushes more brake effort to the front wheels. Could it be sticking(if it exists). Can't even get a Haynes manual or similar. Local garage is quite good but is 20km away so can't get him to the car when its playing up. Main dealer 100km away. Any other suggestions? Thanks in desperation!!

Well ...
A servo usually needs an input movement to get an output.
How about bleeding the front brakes .. and also checking that the pad shims are fitted?
If the brakes are stuck on or binding with engine off for a minute, there should be no line pressure .. but I would till suspect the calipers.
It does have a REAR handbrake .. right? (Not like Saab which have a mechanism built into the front calipers)
