I am 22 years old, and im desperate to hire out a 911 Turbo for a day. The places I have looked only hire these cars or similar cars out to people over 30. Have I really got to wait another 8 years to hire a supercar out for the day. I know it will be costly I dont mind that, does anyone have any ideas for me? Apart from pinching one? Lol

Thanks,Tom.

Perhaps in the mean time you could do a few of the supercar drivng days held at various race tracks around the country. You cant really make the most of a car like this on the road anyway, and in one day you would never become familiar enough with it to enjoy it properly. I have driven several Ferraris and Porsches, plus single seat racing cars, (including a Formula 1 car! ) round circuits, and it is terrific fun, plus you will get professional driving instruction too.

I know what you mean, but I think I can adapt to cars fairly quickly. I have driven a few quick cars (in short blasts) I used to own a focus RS (pretty quick) A friend of mine chops and changes his cars for fun, and loses a LOT of money doing so. He had a Lancer EVO VIII MR 340bhp. I had a go of that, and that was a very very quick car (0-100 I think was about 10.5secs, so thats very close to the 911 turbo) I have looked at the trackdays but I want the freedom to go were I want rather than being stuck on a track. Plus the closest one for a 911 turb is miles away from me, and its 300quid for 4 laps! Imagine how quick your 4 laps would be up!!  My dream come true would be a ride in a McLaren f1 but I dont think theres much chance of that happening!!

Forgot to say I have been on a track in a 911 GT3 RS, as a passenger, good experience but after a few laps it tended to start to get boring, mind you we reached about 160 on the straight, which was a good experience! The car wasnt so (shuv u back in ya seat, id id expected) because of the lack of turbo) but it was quick! My friends dad has one of the old lotus carltons, and had had 180mph on the M6 racing a toyota supra. I wasnt in the car at the time tho.
Don't you have to be 25 to hire any sort of car anyway?
You had much rear-wheel drive experience?
From your responses so far (ie, being impressed with 180mph down the M6) I would say this is one of the reasons they don't rent out to people under 30. The other main reason would be the insurance. Try getting a quote yourself on a 911 Turbo.... then try and get a blanket policy for anyone to drive it.

OBonio when did I say I was 'impressed' with 180mph on the M6? I was just saying thats all mate. I totally agree with you and you cant blame them for not hiring them out to the younger drivers. I am not a **** **** driver, I would just like to drive around in my dream car for a day. I wouldnt even think about trying to get an insurance quote unless I wanted a laugh. I think I am quite sensible behind the wheel but I know people that are over 30 that I wouldnt trust in a Relaint!
