Positioning of indicators
7 Answers
I took my Vectra to the Vauxhall dealer today to have a new bulb put in the front o/s indicator. They couldn't do it. It was jammed. I have to book the car in to have the bumper removed so the headlight can be taken out which will cost me the wrong side of 80 nicker.
So here is my plan. Those reversing lights you see in Halfords that look just like bolt-on fog lights, only they are clear instead of red, if I get a pair of them and put orange bulbs in them, and bolt them to the front of my car and run wires from the existing indicators to them, will that be legal? Is there a requirement that they are a certain height, or within a certain distance of the side of the car?

Not thought about taking the bumper off yourself ? not that many fixings to cope with.
Sounds silly but you would probably be better of taking it to a bodyshop, a good stripper/fitter would have that off in 10mins (if not less), the problem with a mechanical workshop is they ,if ever , remove bumpers.

As expected there are rules and regulations regarding height and distance of lamps.

I would probably smash the indicator and remove the bits. Then fit a new indicator unit at less than a tenner .. that's if it can be done this way .. check if it can! Indicators are pretty easy to break!
