Ford Fiesta LX Zetec 'T' plate.

Nothing. Nada. No clicking as if starter motor is attempting to turn. All appropriate lights come on but it does start from a push start. Can't afford a garage's opinion at the moment, but AB'ers opinions are invaluable as always.

Any thoughts please?

Battery Alba. turn main lights on & get someone to check them whilst you try and start the car, if they dim Battery.
Has the car got an immobiliser? with the dash lights on but no "ignition start" sounds like the engine has been immobilised. I would also get the battery tested. Battery could be kerplunked!
You can push start it but can you jump start it? if so then the battery is probably flat/knackered, if not it's the starter motor.
if not battery ,starter solenoid or relay, put a live feed straight to the solenoid ( or short the terminals) on the starter if it spins that points you in the right direction..
If the battery is of the type that has fiiler caps at the top of the battery, with the engine off remove each cap & check that the Distilled water level is above the lead plates within the battery, if it needs topping up do so, charge the battery this might cure it. Once the battery starts giving problem, renew.

very many thanks for your replies and my apologies for being late in responding.

Will checkfluid levels in battery tomorrow (it's a bit dark at the moment!)

OH went fishing this morning, car was fine, then went to come home and nada.
Blooming car was only bought less than 3 weeks ago. grr

However, one again, many thanks for your replies. Will let you know how often I've kicked it tomorrow:D
Hi, If the car has just been bought, return it to where you bought it, although that should not come under the warranty the battery should have lasted far longer than that, has the fan belt been checked? Is there a faint RED light on the dash panel? This will indicate Alternator problems.

Late again, yes the light is very faint.

I've spent the afternoon trying to find the phone number of the garage. I know where he is etc and the location is awkward for a landline. Typical, I had his mobile number and can't find it. I'll call in tomorrow.

Fluid levels in battery were topped up this morning and we went for a spin to hopefully charge the battery.

There also was an advisory notice issued with the MOT, but we don't have that either. The AD notice that is, we do have the previous 2 MOT certs.
