People who think they are 'good drivers' should have their driving assessed by the Institute of Advanced Motorists or similar organizations They may find they have faults they were unaware of or pick up advice that will make them even better drivers.

I will freely admit to be being crap at parking.
Technically if some one has passed their driving test, then according to the DVLA they are not a bad driver, in most cases it's human error whether that be through selfish driving or just absent mindedness that causes bad driving!
Thanks alba - I'll take you up on that!

I'm just off to cnage my underwear, and I think I might brush all my teeth!
I confess to being puzzled as to why so much stick is reserved for "middle lane hoggers" I drive on motorways a fair bit and can honestly say I don't see that many, and the majority I do see tend to be on quiet stretchees of the motorway where, admittedly, it is daft to be driving in the middle lane, but where they are easily negotiated.
On the other hand I see people hogging the outside lane, bumper to bumper, at high speed, often when there is ample room to drive in either of the two other lanes. Such driving is not as stupid looking, but it's far more dangerous as a rule.
i woudl say im an average driver, and have good and bad days... ive never crashed though, ...but i do sometimes get nervous on the road.

i think people who thnk they are great drivers are often just arrogant and refuse to accept theyre not perfect.

my ex used to think he was a phenomenal driver...he wasnt... and my mate thinks shes a good driver, yet has had a fair few crashes, and has many many near misses on one journey - speeding, having to slam on all the time, changing lanes at the wrong time etc etc...yet then jokes, well i havent crashed so im doing ok...i wasnt laughing though...i just thought she was an idiot...
I agree with Tracy about roundabouts - most people round here seem to have no idea about giving way to traffic coming from the right, they just stop anyway - I've seen three people at different junctions on a roundabout, each one scared to move first...

And round here they seem not to use indicators - I guess they know where they're going.
