when i lock or unlock my car using my remote the lights no longer flash although the car still locks and unlocks. does that mean the alarm is not working.

im not sure if it matters or not.

with my smart car, when the batteries were running out on the remote central locking, the lights flashed differently (don't know how they knew though!)

I had this problem the other day with my Audi and it turned out that the boot wasn't shut properly, so the car was locking but the lights not flashing.

It could just be the relay part inop that connects into lights circuit. Is it original Mazda incorporated alarm .. or an aftermarket one .. if so what make?
Check the doors are locked after operating remote.
