my Rover 75 2.0 se connoisseur (x). when pulling away in first gear there seems to be a flat spot, the car will stall unless you rev the car quite a bit. just had an oil service Rover claim they can't find any fault but they say it should be a lot smoother than it is! any suggestions?

I had this on a very old car of mine some years ago. It almost 100% unlikely to be anything to do with the oil but a good garage would surely have checked it over for you - as this is quite dangerous when pulling out as I found out but not quite to my cost.

I hope this of help to you, and by process of elimination - spark plugs/ht leads, fuel supply problem (faulty pump) or possibly an air intake problem.   How old is your car?
