Cat C write off
8 Answers
Hi
Hope you can help...
I am thinking of buying a cat c write off and need to know if I need to get a vosa test etc when repaired.
Its a Mondeo and all it needs it 2 headlights, bonnet and a new dash as both air bags have gone off.
Any help or advice would be great.
Thanks Rob

Thanks for your answer. I have seen the car its a 54plate st220 with loads of extras on it. Mt cuz owns the car and was the 1 involved in the crash.
When I looked at the car it looked very small amount of damage on the front end, it has not touched the crash bar that is under the front grill as when the guy in front stopped my cuz went underneath the back of him.
Inner wings are fine, bumper is fine and outer wings are fine.
The damage is the bonnet has a crease in it, the front grill is smashed. That is on the outside.
Inside the air bags have gone off and it has smashed the windscreen.
Its a lovely car and well looked after, he would repair and drive but he has a phobia of driving it just in case it happens again.
I am hoping I can do a quick repair and get a decent car for low money.
I just want to make sure I am doing it right.
Any more help would be appreciated.
Thanks

A Mondeo like that smacked me up the a*se at the lights last year, sustaining similar damage but none of the bags went off. I'm not saying don't buy this, but for Pete's sake get a mechanic to look over it before you part with any folding. Sounds to me like it has had a bigger shunt than you've been lead to believe.
