have just changed the fuel filter the car will not start took the fuel line off leading to the fuel filter no fuel is getting through any ideas

May be an silly answer, but did you put the filter on the right way round Should have an arrow showing direction from tank to engine.

Fill the new filter with diesel.
If it does not go (and keep going) after turning over 30s, tow start it.

message to albags thanks for your reply but there is no fuel getting to the fuel filter so i think the prob could be some other problem looks like a garage call out

common problem with late Ford diesels, what should be a simple job turns into a nightmare...doesnt matter how long you turn it over for it wont start !!!
You have to suck the fuel through from the tank, there is a special tool but most garages use a brake fluid bleeder to do it (inc Ford dealers) If its any consolation you are not the first and wont be the last to get caught out i have even seen qualified mechanics come unstuck and have to ring a dealer, many Ford dealers end up with one or two of these towed in each week for them to solve the problem.

That's why you fill the filter with fuel through a syringe .. and tow it with everything connected. Then they will go ok.
There's nothing wrong with anything else .. the fuel is drawn through.
If you have a Mityvac .. like I have, that will also work.

thanks alot mark you r rite in every aspect i did get a tow and every thing is sorted i did use a syrnge dut did not fill the filter up again many thanks
