I have a Vauxhall Brava 2.5 tdi 1999 truck. I have just serviced etc. I have fitted a new feul filter. it started and ran fine imeadeatly afterwards till the fuel in the system ran out; I have half a tank of deisel. I disconected the feed to the filter and found there was no deisel gettimg through. I had already primed the filter as per book. Out of intrest I supplied fuel to the out side of the filter via a bottle and tube and the engine ran fine again. I am baffled now as to why the fuel is not pumped to the filter, any pointers greatly recieved, thanks

Air in the system, take off & refill the filter then refit the filled up filter.
Air lock that you let in.
Prime again .. best if you can suck fuel through with a vacuum device.
Tow it to start, and keep revs up.
make sure the filter is secure & not sucking in air through the seal..

Thanks for your answers. In the end I filled the filter and refitted it, I then filled the feed pipe with a fairy liquid bottle and tube and did the same for the filter out let pipe, I then purged the filter as per book, second flick and the engine started perfectly and ran as per normal.
Thanks again
