squeeking/squeeling noise coming form car
I have just bought a 52 plate Citroen C3 car. It is fine driving round town 30 to 40 mph, but on long runs when i go 40. 50. 60 mph there is a sqeeling noise that starts up. It is intermitant, but once started the longer I drive, it will continue even at lows speeds. I noticed last night that if I press the brake just a little bit,(not enough to slow down) the noise stops.
Any idea what it might be would be much appreciated.

Gently touching the brakes causes a change in pressure (over the brake pad area), so the noise (may) disappears.
Take the car to a garage to get the brake wear checked.
Or it could be due to the brake callipers not releasing fully – causing the brake pads to rub on the discs.
