men love trotting this sort of stuff out... because ever since statistics first showed women are safer drivers than men, they feel aggrieved and can't bear it.

men may fare better round a racetrack, but that's not really the same thing.

Regards the elderly Lady, with respect to the lass I think it's time to call it a day for her own safety, I will & have never knocked women drivers due to the fact that in my days of driving HGVs etc I have seen some male idiots do things like stopping on the hard shoulder & having a picnic ( That is very true) I've seen men trying to retrieve a suite case from the Middle lane on the MI + the M6, I will grant you, there are some idiotic HGV drivers out there, but look at the status of the driver as you pass him/her, their age should give you their experience, I hope for this elderly lady that she is OK & well the poor lass must have sht herself, remember, we are all getting there.

not so much women as bad drivers in Audis BMW'S and school run vehicles! i often wonder how some people managed to pass the driving test!

as a none driver and female (yes, honestly, I am!) I've noticed that generally women are worse drivers then men, also men tend to notice other drivers more, for example will slow down to let you (or in my case Mr Boo) out or into somewhere, whereas women will blithely fail to notice you (him), also men tend to acknowledge manners by other drivers more.
