"Stop script" or "page unresponsive, kill page"

i keep getting these messages on my mini 7" eeepc asus 701SD laptop and its driving me mad

on my normal size laptop i only get them now and again, but it seems to be happening almost hourly.

any ideas why and what i can do to minimise this?

i am using chrome, and win XP.

You might get a better response if you post in 'Computers' under 'Technology', instead of 'Motoring'.

I know you say it is a Mini, but that's not quite enough to qualify for this area.
