MOT Emissions fail - again!
Last year I posted about failing my MOT on emissions, got some good advice, also mechanics from work gave their opinion and result was I bought a new Cat and got it through. Now it has just failed again on emissions at the same garage and they are suggesting first I get a new lambda sensor with no guarantee that will help. My question is why is this fault so difficult to solve?

It's never given me any other problems. I love it and would only change it if I could find something that I like as much that I could afford. It had an oil change during the service.
If I try Redx it won't help me through the re-test in 10 days though will it?

Run off the Tesco rubbish, fill it up with shell and then give it a good run (Italian Tune up!!) make sure it gets well revved. That should clean out the CAT, if the Lambda sensor is duff you can get a new one easily enough from any Car spares centre. When you pull the dipstick out if the oil is very black and thick it needs changing, this won't effect your emissions though but it will keep your engine going.
