Off the road means that it is not, or never will be used.It could sit on the road so long as you don't use it
If it is entirely off the public road (and in this case presumably on your property) then you can SORN the vehicle.
Only if it's taxed and insured zingo.
But if it is taxed then it doesn't need to be SORNed ...

... you can't SORN a vehicle that is on the public road/land.
Perhaps this is of some help :-

Yep, totally incorrect answer by Zingo.
zingo, sorry you are wrong a SORN car has to be off the road compleatly .
It can NOT be on a public road or anywhere the public has access, so even a car park is no good unless it is a private car park. Also to keep it on private land you need the land owners permission.
Why the fuss? The answer is simply that for SORN the vehicle must not be on the public highway or public land. If your drive is solely your property and not shared with anyone else (see property deeds) then SORN is OK provided you never drive it. I it needs repair (usual reason for SORN) I THINK you would have to hire a car-carrier to take it to repairer. If you want to drive it to repairer, withdraw SORN, if taxed, insured and MOT. Why claim SORN, anyway unless it is a large % of your tax. Making life difficult for yourself maybe?
Zingo is completely wrong - well said eddie51.
