I have a 1997 Golf Conv. Most of the time the car will not start. Insert the key, turn, starts, try revving but nothing and then it stalls. Try again, same thing, after 5-6 goes it finally starts. Any ideas? I have been told that it could be the chip in the key that isn't allowing the car to start, is this true?
