Car Tax
I bought a car (second hand) about 3 weeks ago. I have recieved the new log book, but so far, I haven't got the letter asking me to renew my car tax, which runs out on the 31st. Is there anyone I can contact as to where my letter is, or can I go to the post office and buy the tax without that letter if I explain the situation?!

Take your new log book to the post office along with proof of insurance cover on the car and MOT and obviously the 170 or so it costs if it's above 1.5 engine size (think it's 140 below 1.5) they can do it all online, they scan the barcode on the new log book and take your money and give you a tax disk with no worries.
This is the relevant page about renewing the VED using a V10... http://www.dvla.gov.uk/vehicles/howdoi_licence.htm
BTW cost for 12 months for car below 1549cc is 110, above is 170 (as stated).
