New Car Smell

Why do the interiors of most new cars smell the same?

It's a mixture of all the plastics and cloths and stuff used to make the interior.

Personally I find it very nauseating especially when you turn the hot air on and it fills the car with freshly glued pipes smell, yuk!

Plus the car has been standing, usually with all the windows closed.  As soon as the car is driven about and starts to get ventilation, the smell will slowly disappear.
