One of my pet hates is people that drive down slipways onto a motorway at 40MPH and then slow down at the bottom while checking if it's safe to join, a sliproad is for getting up to the same speed as the traffic already on the motorway so you can merge safely.
Similarly there is a stretch of road near here where it's a single lane 60MPH road with a turning to the right, in the middle of the road there is a filter lane for people taking the right turning. It always amazes me the amount of people that nearly come to a standstill while still in the middle of the 60MPH main carriageway and then pull over into the filter lane at the last second..... just get over and slow down once you're over!
