Locking plips

Why does the range of my Rover locking plip seem to increase whenever I place it against my head?  A few of my friends and colleagues have noticed this as well.

a) you have a metal plate in your head that acts like a satellite transciever that amplifies the signal of your "plip" ?

b) your skeleton acts like an aerial extension when placed next to radio emmiters. you might find this applies to other parts of your body where the skin is thin around your bones

c) why would anyone place a "plip" on their head to find this out?

It was featured on top gear a few years ago as an effective way to increase the range of your remote centrol locking...

...and works!

There's a theory that says that the range of the "plip" is increased when it's put against someone's head is purely because the "plip" is higher up! Don't know if that's right!
