daytime headlights

does anyone else find it annoying that some brands of car seem to have their headlights on permanently - even in bright sunshine?

as i understand it those prats in europe have declared that all new cars from a certain date have to have running lights on ALL the time, ok so be it , but why do some cars have fairy lights at the front, mercs and beamers seem to be the worst.

Yes... My new punto had daytime lights but you can turn them off. It was the first thing I did!

We only notice them at the moment because they are just the odd car. When every vehicle have their lights on they won't be so noticeable.

Which worries me a bit as a biker - it may reduce the effectiveness of bikes using lights during the day ...

I have heard that several times Dave, but I can't see the logic.

Why should I fail to see a bike with headlights on, just because cars have daytime running lights?
