I was wondering if you could tell me what a good MPG is?
Or does it depend on a lot of factors?

It does rather depend on the car and also, where and how you drive it. I drive a large 2.0l diesel saloon and get around 48-50mpg, whereas my wifes car is a 1.4l petrol small hatchback and she gets low 30s.
The difference really is that my car goes with little effort and I tend to drive on M and A roads, whereas she drives around town and needs to flat foot the gas pedal to get up to 30 mph in less than 20 seconds. Both cars are less than 5 years old.
