I was very interested in the answers re the failing car battery. Kwik Fit told me that mine was no good in June but I refused a replacement and its still working well, however they have sowed a little bit lf doubt in my mind. Im thinking of buying one of these power jumps that fit into the cigarette lighter and recharge a flat battery in ten minutes as a back up. Does anyone have any experience of them, and do they think they are worth it?

I had one Tooj, I did not value the thing, I always carry a Good / long set of jump leads, providing you look after your battery it will give you good service, If its the Fill up type just make sure the fluid is above the lead cells inside. K.F. In my mind will always be tyre fitters not mechanics & they want to stay in the area.

Thanks TWR
just remember a battery can work fine in the summer first hard frost can kill it...
garages & accessory shops can sell dozens of batteries when this happens..
its not worth bothering about with jump starts, get it tested at a local garage, if its on its way out now it might start ok in this weather but in icy weather you've had it, but a new one
"buy" not "but" tut tut
