Cavalier ingnition/key problem

I have a L reg cavalier 1.8 the key or ignition is worn and is getting worse.Does anyone know how to remove the ignition and cost of a replacement or if difficult how much a garage would charge? Thanks for any ideas..

It would mean having a different lock for all the doors . Try getting the lock number that would be found in the boot or hatch lock. It would take about 1 hour if the machanic know what he is doing. Or look up Haynes very easy to fit, I did one in my younger days.

Thanks will try to find a manual for it .
   my daughters old escort had a similar problem where the key would not always turn the ignition on .This was due to a worn ignition barrel .I called out the AA and the chap removed the ignition barrel for me , which I took to a local Ford dealer where they rebuilt the inside of the barrel with a repair kit. I think it cost about �20, the barrel just pushes back into position.Maybe it is similar with a vauxhall?
