My Jaguar S type 2000 model is misfiring intermittently, sometimes quite badly.Up to now its run perfectly. Has anyone any idea as to what might be the problem? Thanks
sounds like a HT lead problem to me sart it up when dark and if yuo can see any sparking on one of the leads it willk need replacing.Failing that it could be a partially blocked fuel jet,this is if it is apetrol engine by the way
Good luck
Thanks for your answers re my Jag.The engine is petrol & it starts up fine when cold, no missing. This occurs when heating up & when hot. Platinum plugs were fitted 10 k mls ago in 2010 so shd be ok
TWR, you really need to get out more
ha ha can also be an expression of triumph or understanding, as in;
Haha, now I get it (understand)
which is something you obviously don't do :o(
Have checked coolant for oilslick but is ok . Car also had oil & filter change . am sure water in old oil wd have been noticed. WD40 has been tried as well but there are no leads to plugs unlike most cars. neither is there a single coil. Each plug has its own coil which complicates matters. One could be breaking down but how to check. Mark mentions the coil pack. Thanks all. Barney721
