Replacement Car Key

Is it cheaper to call out a locksmith than to take the car into a main dealer and what are the relevant costs. Its an older Honda Civic.

If I was in your position I'd reach for the Yellow Pages (or go to Yell.com) and phone around for quotes.

if you still have a key it will be even cheaper to take it to the locksmith
try searching ALA auto locksmith association or using locksmith locator on Master Locksmiths Association website or similar on Institute of Certified Auto Locksmiths

Looking at the time stamps for Chris's answer @ 22:01, and the next unaffected answer from BillyBB @ 03:19, I say unequivocably that the 2 removed answers were from the normal early morning "spammer attack", whic occurs every night about 0100-0230 GMT for this site. Nothing personal to your question, its just what happens, but the techies, mods & Ab Editor are on top of the issue.

It's all my fault!

The regular nightly (Chinese?) spammer posted the usual ad for cheap trainers on all recent threads, thus filling the 'Latest posts' box completely. When that happens, regular ABers often follow the spammer's post with a blank post (or, more accurately, one consisting of a single full stop or comma) on each of the affected threads, to clear the spammer's username from 'Latest posts'.

I banned the spammer (resulting in the first 'answer removed') and then removed the blank post that followed it (resulting in the second 'answer removed').

Replacing misplaced keys by requesting from the automobile dealer can be an expensive choice and one would have to wait for quite a few days in order for the automobile keys to be delivered. The keys will also require to be programmed so that it would be well-matched with the car's computer. For those who have an older vehicle model that have metal keys, they can call locksmith in Davie to make a replacement for them.
