hi everyone,my dad has a 1997 nissan micra and we fitted a new battery as the old one was shot,anyway noticed the factory fitted tape/radio needed a code which we didnt have so decided to remove it and got an aftermarket fitted it with correct iso adapter etc and we dont seem to have any power going to it at all as my sony cd player wouldnt work either???..simply dead..checked all fuses in car also under bonnet all fine

Check the fuse on the aftermarket set, should be.( 2AMP)

checked it mate all ok
Faulty ISO adapter? Go to the supplier and see if they'll let you try a different one.
You may have to earth the ISO adaptor, Is there a longer black lead that's only connected at one end?
Fit a ring terminal and secure it to a screw or bolt behind the radio.
Have you checked the aftermarket set in your car? Even new ones can be faulty.
It should work when the aerial is connected thereby giving an earth but this is not recommended for aftermarket units.
If this does solve the problem then earth as previously posted.
