My fiesta has developed a creaking noise from the front drivers side especially when going over a bumpy road or speed humps, also when pressing up and down on the front end. Anyone got any ideas what this could be and could it develop into something more serious if left ?

I had the same problem with my Fiesta, especially in dry weather - and there's the clue. I think its the rubber bushes on the suspension. Wait until it rains later this week and then drive it and you should find that the problem has disappeared.  The squeak is annoying, but nothing to worry about. Good luck.

Had a similar problem on a Fiesta many moons ago. I totally agree with derekpara, it was indeed two rubber/foam type bushes on the front suspension.

Used to spray them with some rubber/nylon lubricant spray every 6 months which solved the problem.  Bear in mind this was almost 20 years ago and not sure how old your Fiesta is or if the suspension is the same. The bushes were at the end of a type of short torsion bar - one on each side. If you looked underneath immediately behind the front bumper you could see them twisting if the car was gently bounced up & down.

Hope that helps and doesn't sound like anything to worry about.
